The LDP is excited to announce the appointment of Sara R. Ellis as the newest member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee.

After seeing a need for mental health professionals who understand the unique pressures of law, Sara left her career as an entertainment and intellectual property litigator to pursue a Master of Science in Social Work. Sara’s mission as a psychotherapist will be not only to help individuals but to make institutional changes to support well-being in law.

Sara previously worked with the Vanderbilt Comprehensive Assessment Program, where she conducted comprehensive behavioral health assessments for professionals with substance abuse and mental health disorders. She is continuing her clinical training at Headwaters at Origins, a treatment program for executives who need help with behavioral health or substance addiction.

Sara is delighted to join LDP in service of her mission and hopes to expand its reach to all legal professionals in need of support.

“We are so fortunate to have Sara aboard our leadership team,” says Julia Clayton, LDP President and Co-Founder. “She has already contributed so much with research assistance and facilitating connections with others working to support wellbeing in the legal profession. No doubt Sara will be instrumental in helping LDP reach more attorneys, legal professionals, and law students who are looking for a community of peers and hope as they navigate mental health challenges.”
