The LDP is excited to announce the appointment of Gavin Alexander as the newest member of its Board and Executive Committee, and its first-ever Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Chair. Gavin is a dedicated and recognized advocate in the areas of mental health and DEI in the legal profession who currently serves as the first-ever Fellow of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee on Lawyer Well-Being. Further, Gavin is a trained peer group facilitator who has publicly shared his own lived experiences with depression and suicidality in articles like “Depression to Dedication: How Chief Justice Gants Saved My Life and Catalyzed Ongoing Advocacy for Mental Health in the Legal Profession,” and “Trailblazing Toward Better Mental Health & Well-Being in Law: Q&A with Gavin Alexander, Well-Being Advocate.”

Gavin has personally attended LDP support group meetings for over a year, and he is thrilled to be joining the LDP’s incredible founders and leadership team. He is particularly excited to help develop the organization’s strategy on improving accessibility for and inclusion of legal professionals from underrepresented and historically excluded backgrounds, and making LDP into an even safer and more welcoming space for people from all communities to share their experiences and struggles with each other.
